Ever closer… Ever faster… Ever more threatening…
They defied nature… They will live to regret it.

Jamie Marshall was a happily married woman, passionate about her job as a storm chaser at a laboratory specializing in such cataclysms, working alongside her husband and mentor, Jack. Her life is suddenly upended when she witnesses Jack's plane crash, struck down by a bolt of lightning. Two years later, Jamie is recklessly and obsessively burying herself in her work… When a terrible tornado hits a Colorado town head-on, she is sent by her boss, Frank Del Rio, to determine the causes of the disaster.
