A group of Americans lands in Mexico on an educational trip organized by Father O'Sullivan. The program includes not only a guided tour of Aztec and Mayan temples, but also a discovery of bloodthirsty rites apparently recreated by the tribes of Oaxaca. As if it were a traditional show, the tourists attend a festival called "The Laughing Dead"... But little by little, the spectators realize that the murderous scenes are all too real and that their lives are in danger.
