18-year-old Sophie works tirelessly in the hat shop that her father owned before he died. During one of her rare outings in town, she meets the wizard Howl. Howl is extremely attractive, but he lacks character… Misunderstanding their relationship, a witch casts a terrible spell on Sophie and turns her into a 90-year-old woman. Overwhelmed, Sophie runs away and wanders through the wasteland. By chance, she enters Howl’s Moving Castle and, hiding her true identity, gets hired as a cleaning lady. This mysterious yet dynamic "old lady" will soon breathe new life into the old home, which is only inhabited by a young apprentice, Markl, and the one who powers the castle, Calcifer, the fire demon. More energetic than ever, Sophie performs miracles. What fabulous destiny awaits her? And what if her story with Howl was only just beginning?
