Jamie is disfigured by a heart-shaped birthmark covering part of his face. Living in London's East End, notorious for its gang violence, he wanders the streets at night with camera in hand. Complex and lonely, he has little contact with the people around him. When his mother is brutally murdered, the press reports on a gang of ultra-violent youths wearing demon masks. But Jamie soon realizes that these monsters are very real and that Hell is taking hold of the city. Determined to seek revenge, he plunges headlong into a waking nightmare.

A deeply stunning horror film marking the grand return of Philip Ridley (The Passion of Darkly Noon, The Reflecting Skin) to directing.
